Kaspersky study from 2024 reveals!

According to the latest Kaspersky study "Enterprise Cybersecurity and Increasing Threats in the Era of AI: Do Business Leaders know what they are doing?", company managers, executives and IT decision-makers worldwide do not seem to know exactly how they can protect their company and thus their data and information from cyberattacks.

Technical jargon as an obstacle

Kaspersky claims to have found that 48 percent of CEOs see cybersecurity jargon as the biggest barrier to understanding and addressing cybersecurity issues. In addition, 47 percent of CEOs say that budget constraints or investments are a major difficulty. Furthermore, 43 percent of respondents say they see inadequate training as a problem for IT security.

Furthermore, almost half of those surveyed do not understand basic terms such as malware, phishing or ransomware. These obvious gaps in knowledge are exacerbated by the current shortage of specialists in the IT security industry, budget restrictions and untrained employees. This increases the cyber risk for companies and organizations many times over.

The challenge of teams

Kaspersky also found that untrained employees at all levels compromise cybersecurity and account for more than ten percent of cybersecurity incidents. In the case of incidents

  • 16 percent to normal employees
  • 15 percent on IT employees
  • 14 percent to IT managers.

How well do you know your way around?
