From the starting gun to the finish line: A journey that's just beginning
It is not the moment of arrival, but the moment of departure: security will no longer be just a promise, but will become visible, measurable, and verifiable.
„The race is on“ – not as a catchphrase, but as an attitude. Together with our Data Protection Officer and Information Security Specialist, Markus Olbing, we are now firing the starting pistol for our ISO 27001 certification.
The plan still seems ambitious: complete internal processes by the end of June 2026, pass the audit in September.
Right now, all of this is still the future. What matters is the conviction that trust requires transparency – and that security is not a state, but an ongoing process.
This way we can also prove it to our customers.
In a few weeks, the journey will likely feel different. Then our gaze will wander through departments, meetings, documents, and processes.
Questions will arise that no one has consistently asked before: How do we really work? Where are the risks, where are the blind spots? It's no longer just about technology, not about firewalls or tools – it's about people, habits, and responsibility.
Not every step is easy. Processes must be questioned, rethought, and sometimes completely rebuilt. But that is precisely where change lies. Under the leadership of Markus Olbing, something is growing that goes beyond checklists: a shared understanding of (IT) security. Gaps are closing, workflows are becoming clearer, and bit by bit, a structure is emerging that holds.
The schedule is ambitious, the pressure is mounting – and at the same time, so is the energy in the team. Overtime is being invested, details are being refined, decisions are being made. The goal has not yet been reached, but it is becoming tangible. The organization is visibly changing, not just on paper, but in daily actions. Safety is beginning to become part of the company culture.
And then comes this moment, which initially only exists as a date on the calendar: the end of June. The point at which everything is supposed to be in place internally. In this time travel, it is the moment when it will become clear what has already been achieved – even if the goal is formally still ahead of us. By then, processes should be documented, risks assessed, and structures created. The foundation will be in place.
But the journey doesn't end here. Ahead of us lies the audit, the external examination, the final proof. This is planned for September 2026.
This journey through time shows: ISO 27001 is not a sprint and not a one-time project. It is a marathon that begins with a clear goal, but unfolds its true strength along the way.
Because in the end, it's not about a certificate on the wall, but about something bigger – about trust, which you don't just promise, but prove anew every day.
